Is it ok to hate everyone because they have different views than mine?

To most of the people whom I meet I feel they are very different including my blood relatives and normal people. There are many who are very innocent and maybe there are many around the world who think like me. But for now. I think I hate most of the people whom I have met throughout my life.

Is It OK To?

  • No. You should respect people with differing views (within reason, of course - no need to respect antivaxxers or neonazis).

  • Unfortunately it's not an uncommon attitude. ISIS is a good example of where the mindset can lead.

    • Well said .... !!

    • I'm libertarian you know what that means? I dont give a fuck what you believe as long as it doesnt infringe on my or other peoples right to do what they want to do. I wish radical muslims were as grown up as radical christans honestly. Where normal people just make fun of them. If ISIS was at the level of Westboro that would be alright.

      • I'm not sure my political beliefs can be neatly stuck in any particular cubbyhole, but for what it's worth, I suppose I'm some flavour of left-libertarian.

While I accept that fundamentalist Christians are generally no more than an annoyance, there are wingnut extremists who would, for example, be happy to murder a doctor who preformed legal abortions and believe Jesus approved of that.

I also suspect that the families of dead servicemen who have been harassed by the Westboro clan during their funeral services haven't found them all that amusing.

In the context of the OP's query, I suspect that sooner or later he'll find an online community which shares his views, his hatred for those who don't share his opinions will be confirmed and amplified in that echo chamber, and some sort of extremist will be born.

  • Hmmm. A guy who hates everyone he's met throughout his life craving attention and seeking approval from complete strangers. How ironic.

    • I see what you are saying, but maybe this person genuinely wants to know if there are others like him, or her? Of course whenever I see someone responding to their own post, and referring to themselves in third person I lose respect for the OP, and simultaneously find it hilarious.

    • I am just checking out if there are people on some other part of world who understands me. Guess not many like me 😐

      • Hating everyone who's views differ from your own isn't that special. Maybe you feel lonely like there's no one whom you can relate? Also what are your parents like? Do your parents hate everyone who different from them, do they pressure you to be like them?

      • I think they ment mentally. Because understanding people's motivations is kinda an adult way of determining what kind of person they are.

  • Wait, is Bubba55555 the one who posted the question, or is it you (Anonymous Post Author)? Because if it's you, why are you talking in 3rd person narrative? Or are you both of these people and you're actually talking to yourself, but mixed up the replies?

    • Yeah that's not healthy to be doing. When I pull it I dont get into conversations with myself because it's pointless.

    • I hate it when OPs do that, but it's kinda funny in a way at the same time.

      • LOL...literally creates a profile to make like someone on here has his back, then can't keep track of which is which. Time to leave the basement, dude.

  • Hating is bad energy

  • It’s common for you to hate people who have different views, but you are able to learn from them and understand them if you get to know them a little better.

  • You are free to hate as much as you want and die alone and miserable. Enjoy.

    • My dad has helped a lot of people and he died but no one came to his funeral. That is what leads me to this.

      • Your dad probably realised that helping people wasn't a bargain for a future payoff, but rather a selfless act of human kindness.

If you help someone with expectations you will always be sorely dissappointed.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • The fact that nobody your father helped could be bothered to come to his funeral says nothing good about them. Your bitterness about that is understandable, but it doesn't honour your father's memory and, much more importantly, it does nothing good for you.

No matter how much you detest those people or anyone else, your hatred doesn't change or affect them in any real way. The only person it does affect is you, and it creates a very negative view of the world you have to live in and the people you must spend time with.

So, what are you going to do about it? Go on a murderous rampage, slaughter everyone you know and then either kill yourself, be killed by the state, or spend the rest of your life in a prison cell? Fantasising about eliminating every single person you detest might make you feel better for a few moments, but the reality would be that you'd wasted your life, and I'd like to believe that isn't what your father would have wanted.

If your father was emotionally mature and a generally sensible person, he probably knew that it was stupid to help people and expect gratitude in return. A better approach is to help people when you feel you should do so, to expect nothing in return and for your only satisfaction to be that you know you've done the right thing.

      • People suck sometimes. When I die and no ones at the funeral just do what my will says to do so you can get the inheritance... yep it's in the contract.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Normal but toxic. It is increasingly more difficult nowadays because people are so tribal about shit.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Sadly it's normal.

  • You realize you're referring to yourself in the third person, OP?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • When people give their opinions about a topic all should be respected even if one does not agree. That is what arguments are about. Some people out there give out opinions out of emotions rather than rational critical thinking making their opinions fall under fallacy. When a premise is presented, follow it up with supportive evidence and logical reasoning so it can be validated as an argumentative statement.

  • If you actually hate others, because they disagree, with you, that simply means you're a know-it-all.
If you're a know-it-all, then why are you asking us ANYTHING ?!

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • Fuck the democrats

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • What's the point of hating everyone who has different views from you? How would you feel if they just straight up hated you, OP?

I'm not trying to mean, or judge you. I just think there's more going on here than what you're telling us. Maybe you have an undiagnosed personality disorder, or something?

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • What does your hate gain you?
How are you better off by hating others?
    IF (underline "if" )
If you are lucky enough to live till you are 100.
    At 100 you die.
    knowone comes to your funeral.
    You have no gravestone.
    You are just worm food.
    How are you now?
    Your hate gets you knowhere.
